My Life as a Meercat

My Life as a Meercat

I am a meerkat. I like to sunbathe and catch mice but I also love to climb trees. I live in the hot sandy
desert with my family.

One bright sunny day we saw the most beautiful cherry  hanging on a tree. We really wanted to eat it.

so we started to climb the big tall tree. Just as we got to the cherry, a scary vulture came swooping
past and stole the cherry right in front of our eyes. He then flew away into the blue sky.
We chased him on the ground as fast as we could and at last we caught up to him. He was flying close
to the ground. We climbed on top of each other and tried to reach the big juicy ripe cherry from the
scary vultures' sharp claws. He tried to push us away but I reached up and got the cherry from his
scary claws.
He tried to get it back from me so I threw it to my friend and we all threw the precious cherry to each
other as the horrible vulture tried to get it back.
he did snatch it back, but he was not looking where he was flying and he crashed into a big wall.
The cherry fell and I caught it. We were all so happy we could not wait to eat the yummy cherry. I
kicked it hard over a big tree.

It crashed into the ground and broke. We were all sad when we saw the broken cherry.
The end

  1. Hi Sophia,

Great story writing. You have really retained my attention with all the adjectives and verbs. I just wanted to keep on reading. I bet you where disappointed after all the hard work, that you couldn't eat the cherry.
What is your favourite food to eat?

  2. Hi Sophia,
I love meerkats, they are one of my favourite animals. You have used some great adjectives in your writing, I like the description of the big, juicy, ripe cherry. Writing the passage as though you are the meerkat is a super idea.
    Keep up the good work.
